- ¼ cup sesame seeds
- ½ cup raisins
- ½ cup coconut chips
- 15–20 fresh curry leaves
For Seasoning:
- 1 tbsp cooking oil
- ½ tsp turmeric powder
- Red chili powder (adjust to taste)
- 1 tsp fennel seeds
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- Salt as needed
Instructions
- Start by heating oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the curry leaves and let them crisp up slightly.
- Toss in fennel seeds, sesame seeds, and raisins. Roast gently on low heat, stirring continuously until the raisins puff up and the seeds turn aromatic.
- Sprinkle in turmeric powder and red chili powder. Add lemon juice and mix well so the flavors coat the ingredients evenly.
- Now add pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds along with salt. Stir thoroughly to combine everything.
- Continue roasting on low flame for about 8–10 minutes, ensuring the mixture becomes evenly crisp and golden.
- Switch off the heat and allow the chivda to cool completely before storing.
